Custom Crates and Boxes

UFP Industrial has a long history of designing and building a variety of wood and hybrid shipping solutions, ranging from small boxes and crates to 100-foot containers, for one-time or continued use. With the capability to mix materials ranging from wood and steel to plastic and precision-cut foam, our products protect everything from sensitive electronic devices to massive generators. We’re experts at navigating shipping obstacles, whether company-wide or worldwide.

We have broad capabilities in design, engineering, material selection and manufacturing automation to avoid solutions that are overbuilt or underbuilt and reduce costs.

Our industrial specialists work closely with customers, analyzing their needs while considering their production processes, handling methods, equipment, and warehouse and shipping requirements. They analyze each customer’s potential for using reusable/returnable systems that can reduce expense and environmental impact. We have the complete design and testing capabilities to put the right type of reusable system in place.

Our cleated corrugated packs combine the great strength of wood reinforcement with a strong, attractive and protective corrugated body. Your company's logo, advertising and product description can be printed to your specifications. Our collapsible Sure-Lok Crates are compression tested at 50,000 lbs. and completely customizable.

Pallets and Skids

When it comes to pallets, load-reliability is just the beginning. You need the right design coupled with cost-effectiveness and ease of handling. And with thousands of possibilities, finding the right pallet can be daunting. Our experienced professionals custom design and manufacture the best pallets and skids for your job, including heat-treated pallets, for both domestic or international shipping. From basic 48x48 pallets to complex skids for ultra-heavy, oversized machinery, UFP Industrial can handle it all. Turf equipment, aviation and vehicle power trains are just a few markets we serve.

All products are tested and verified in our in-house testing labs. Our national network of plants can cover any geographic challenge.

Steel Crates and Carts

Steel crates are an optimal packaging solution when maximum protection is needed. They also eliminate the certification steps required to export items in wood packaging. UFP Industrial provides reusable and disposable steel crates for a wide range of shipping and packaging needs. We also provide crates that mix steel with other materials.

In addition, we custom design and manufacture steel carts used to easily move and store a variety of parts and components, such as auto parts and engines. These carts can be designed for specific applications and improve ergonomics by elevating the work plane and making product movement easier. Plywood backstops, the use of multiple compartments and radiused drop catches are just a few of the customization options available. Both swivel and rigid casters can be used to tailor the movement of the cart on any industrial line.

Hard Cases

Our affiliates design and manufacture hard cases and inserts using a variety of materials, including custom-molded plastic, corrugated plastic, corrugated fiberboard, metal, wood and more. From plastic to softside to ATA, we have the expertise to provide the right reusable solution and the necessary customization and cushioning to properly protect your product. We also provide options such as branding and custom colors. Our high-end line of custom Pelican cases are waterproof, dustproof and crushproof.

On-Site Packaging

UFP Industrial provides the most flexible packaging solutions available, including on-site packaging services to help customers improve efficiency and lower costs. We can customize a packaging solution, ship it to a customer’s facility, and pack the products at their facility. This provides the customer with greater packaging expertise and reliability on site.

For significant packaging efforts, including those that might require multiple packaging solutions, we can maintain a group of employees at the customer’s facility to custom design and build the packaging on site before completing the packaging process. Customers can outsource their packaging needs to us for short-term or long-term projects.

Bedding

UFP Industrial supplies the nation’s leading bedding companies with every component used in mattress foundations, including wood components, fasteners, fabric, corrugate and more. Additionally, UFP’s Total Foundation System (TFS) program produces bed foundations for mattress manufacturers who want to dramatically lower costs related to foundation manufacturing. TFS eliminates waste, frees up capital and space, reduces overhead and cuts freight costs. Our own proprietary bed foundation kits, the Cinch Sleeper Systems, offer consumers convenient and easy-to-assemble bed foundations in three different boxed kits. Furniture and Cabinet Components

UFP Industrial is an efficient and responsive single-source supplier of quality custom cabinet and furniture parts used in homes and recreational vehicles. We produce domestic drawer sides, drawer fronts, tabletops, glue-up components, and profile rails, among other items. We have the technology, machinery (including CNC routers), inventory capabilities and know-how to provide what you need, when you need. And we are continually adding machining capabilities to better serve our customers.

Lamination

When it comes to flat-panel lamination, UFP Industrial does it all. Our capabilities include manufacturing laminated panels using EVA or PUR technologies based on specific application. We have CNC routers, designers and programmers, and edge banders throughout the country, giving us the ability to handle complex designs.

UFP Industrial can laminate overlays such as FRP, HDPE, aluminum, HPL (Wilsonart, Formica, Nevamar) to various substrates like plywood, OSB, foam, particle board (including fire-rated), MDF, honeycomb and more. Our purchasing power and wide range of resources allows us to source worldwide in order to overcome any obstacle.
We also offer lab services for pull tests and failure rates and offer third-party certified E-84 (fire rated) panels.
